Jeffrey Fisher is awesome:
What bothered the chief justice was that Exxon was being ordered to pay $2.5 billion - roughly three weeks' worth of profits - for destroying a long swath of the Alaska coastline in the largest oil spill in American history.

"So what can a corporation do to protect itself against punitive-damages awards such as this?" Roberts asked in court.

The lawyer arguing for the Alaska fishermen affected by the spill, Jeffrey Fisher, had an idea. "Well," he said, "it can hire fit and competent people."

The rare sound of laughter rippled through the august chamber. The chief justice did not look amused.

John Roberts (0.00 / 0)
Was frightening when he came to Missoula this fall. He purposely gave the most anti-intellectual answers to serious queries deflecting even minor criticism with self-deprecatory remarks. He straight faced answered to the question of diversity problems on the court that it was a diverse court you have people from all different circuit courts...Not to mention 6 white men who graduated from Harvard or Yale law school, and a women and black man who went to those schools. Stevens is a Northwestern alum.

His calls for unity on the court are silly as he mocks majorities he is not part in a very non-collegial manner. Read the dissent to the ground breaking global warming case Massachusetts v. EPA (127 S. Ct. 1438). His use of standing to rid the court of cases he does not like is getting absurd.
