Barack Obama Becomes a Member of the Crow Nation

by: Matt Singer

Mon May 19, 2008 at 15:49:02 PM MST

Barack Obama was adopted into the Crow Nation today:
The Crow Indian nation is sending Barack Obama back on the campaign trail as a changed man.

Obama, who's campaigned on "change" was adopted into the Crow tribe during a rally here this afternoon by Hartford "Sonny" and Mary Black Eagle.

"Barack Black Eagle, that is a good name," Obama said, to cheers from about 3,000 spectators at Veteran's Park.

Damn. That's a cool story.

have thought, by now, that Indian tribes would be wise to fork-tongued non-Indians bearing worthless trinkets and worthless promises.  I guess the more things change the more things remain the same.  Just curious, but I wonder if the Crow Nation gave him a lapel pin to wear?

Yes, that is a very cool story (0.00 / 0)
Nice pictures too.  The more Montanans learn about Obama, the more they'll like him, and the more they learn about McCain, the more they'll wonder whether the straight-talkin' maverick image was ever true, since it's obviously not an accurate description of John W. McCain now.
