1Q Fundraising Numbers: Dennis v. Dennis

by: Matt Singer

Thu Apr 16, 2009 at 16:06:39 PM MST

First quarter fundraising numbers are out:
CandidateReceiptsCash On Hand
Rehberg$127,964$611,841
McDonald$23,215$20,731
McDonald has a lot of small contributors -- he's averaging just a bit over $100 per contributor at this point.

Gernant? (0.00 / 0)
I know it's far too early to really tell, but does anyone know what kind of contributions Gernant has been receiving since announcing?

That's his low hanging fruit? (0.00 / 0)
About $275 per day in fundraising for the first quarter? This is supposed to be quick easy low-hanging fruit time, fast money. Fundraising should be a hundred yard dash the first quarter, then marathon that builds to a sprint.

I just assumed a standing party chair with a fundraising powerhouse Governor buddy (who made the first contribution by the way) could have done orders of magnitude better for his first quarter.

This is normal (2.67 / 3)

Montana Democrats simply do not support candidates running against Denny.

Even though they (The Dems) are the party of the rich they don't seem to want to invest the money.

Just look at how they treated Denny's last 4 opponents.

Do any of you hard-core Dems have any explanation for this trend?

Dems are poor? (2.00 / 2)
I feel sorry for them, George Soros, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, John Edwards, Peter Angelos, Roger Altman, and all the assorted Hollywood nutjobs -

I can envision them getting up in the morning, pulling themselves up by their Wolverine bootstraps, just to put a little bread on the table - NOT

How much did Obama outspend McCain by - 2-1?

3-1?

Cherry picking (0.00 / 0)
Anecdotal evidence proves nothing. I could easily come up with a list of multi-millionaires here in Montana that are Republians or Republican supporters, beginning with Dennis Rehberg, one of the richest men in Congress, which is a rich man's club.
