| I was gonna write more, but just go read Markos and Yglesias. Giving 40 Senators the power to block anything is absurd. Even more absurd is the actions of individual Senators, including Democrats, who have concluded that anything they dislike is worthy of a filibuster.
Bring it up for an up-down vote and oppose it. Keep the filibuster for big freaking deals if we have to keep it at all. But letting a fierce minority tie the chamber in knots isn't good for the country at all. |
