A quick e'mail to Max Baucus

Dear Max,

I was disturbed by the news a couple of days ago--when you had advocates of single-payer health care ejected from from you committee hearing.  Please know that if I could afford to do so, I would have been at that committee hearing, advocating for single-payer, and then you would have had to eject one of your constituents--not just a faceless rabble.

Max, there is no reason to exclude single payer from the discussion--it needs to be there.  Doing so creates the impression that your years of coverage by a premium government plan has rendered you oblivious to the insurance-related issues we face everyday on Main Street, Lewistown, Montana.

Sincerely,

Jeff Shelden

Excluding single payer advocates from the table give the impression (0.00 / 0)
that in the market place of ideas, Max has an inferior product.

He is clearly afraid of the competition.

Ellen Radner (?) (0.00 / 0)
from Talk Radio News was having a discussion with Thom Hartmann about Max tossing people from his hearing room and she said it did not surprise her.  She said Max has a reputation for essentially being a jerk....both in his personal life and as a Senator...she said there's a good reason why he is not in a leadership position after all those years of serving.

Max is head of the most powerful committee in the senate...How can you even say that?  There are people up there that have spent a lifetime there in the Senate and don't head up committees.

Was he wrong?  Yep.  Big YEP, OK?  But calling him a jerk in his profession and his personal life is just getting a bit ridiculous.

Max got where he is (0.00 / 0)
via the seniority system...being in a leadership position...minority whip..majority leader, etc. requires the respect and "love" of your colleagues, and Radner claims his personality does not make many friends.
