Rehberg Vulnerable

by: Matt Singer

Mon Aug 24, 2009 at 08:28:36 AM MST

Something that hasn't been noticed much. That Research 2000 poll commissioned by Daily Kos shows Dennis Rehberg very vulnerable next year.

Tyler Gernant just sent out an email highlighting this fact. Not too surprising, given that Rehberg denies that there even is a crisis in healthcare right now.

er, assuming... (0.00 / 0)
...of course that the 'Baggers are anything but a fringe movement...

2010 could be a good year for 3rd party candidates (0.00 / 0)
but I'm not worried about a tea-bagger landslide--even if every one of them turns out to vote, they're still a pretty small minority of the electorate.  There may be masses of as-yet-unmobilized voters ready to "throw the bums out" but so far they seem to really loathe the GOP alternative (see e.g. the weekly tracking Research 2000 polls). Based on the stupidity that continues to spew out whenever any GOP leader opens his or her mouth, I just don't see that changing or the R's gaining much ground in 2010.

nope (0.00 / 0)
...we don't.

I mean...a majority of Montanans favors the public option. How many do you think actually think it means "socialized medicine"?

IMHO, the MT Tea Baggers are the same old tired wise-use-anti-tax-free-market movement people who go out and protest every hiccup. Sure they're plentiful in the Bitterroot, say, and they're dangerous (you saw the town hall videos? and tales of Tea Baggers harassing reform canvassers exist, too), but hardly the rank and file of Montanans...

Jed has tunnel vision. He thinks he's got teabaggers under his bed. (0.00 / 0)
He also predicted America would never elect a black man, and he predicted that medical MJ would fail, and he predicted that the pegasus gold mine would be operational years ago, and the list goes on and on. He's more convinced of a Republican sweep than the most unrealistic Republican alive. They both entirely agree on that score.

I chalk it up to corn pone opinions, in the broader sense as Twain used the term.

It's not rational, but rather part of his emotional being. He's always sure that everyone else is against anything he's for and visa-versa. He will soon weigh in and tell me why he's right even as his predictions constantly fail to materialize.

PS Jay. When you use the term "Public Option," what exactly do you mean? Do you consider (0.00 / 0)
what is currently in either the house bill HR3200 or in the HELP bill a "Public Option"

Or do you mean something else?

Hang in there, Ol' Jed ..., (0.00 / 0)
I've developed a man crush on you.

Ahem ... anyone but me notice that replacing Republicans with Democrats doesn't seem to solve anything?
