Analysis: Additional Insight on Health Care Reform from MSU-Billings Poll

by: Montana Cowgirl

Tue Nov 17, 2009 at 19:44:56 PM MST

The results of the MSU-Billings poll, released Tuesday, offer some interesting insights into how Montanans view the issue of health care reform beyond the narrow and specific questions posed to us in the poll. In my opinion, the poll should have included more health care reform questions (and less about wolves and bears) since health care is one of the biggest issues facing Montana and the nation.

One way to interpret the results would be to conclude that the health care reform plan of a Democratic president is profoundly unpopular to the people of Montana.

A second way to look at the poll results, however, would be to compare the approaches to reform of the two major figures who have been the most outspoken on this issue: Senator Baucus (who has tirelessly worked on this issue and should be commended for his efforts) and Governor Schweitzer (who has been an unabashed proponent of progressive reform, praising the Canadian system in the media and at public events-including at President Obama's town hall meeting in Bozeman.)

people prefer a successful proven canadian system over the cobbled together baucus version of health care reform. any idiot can see that. it's dead people. D.O.A. i say we just walk away from this congressional failure and try again in 2012 with single payer.

and those same aides in washington who advised mr obama so badly on this had better not screw up the economy too or we won't get a chance to have any reform then either.

While the Governor is lauding the Canadian system the real people that I talk to from Canada say the system is terrible and slow. If you have an in to the system you can get help but if you don't if you want or need early help you have to go to Montana. Hmmm such is what the Brits have said to. It is the typical government system it appears. It isn't if you need help it is WHO you are that gets you health care first! I definitely believe it to... That every government is the same and ours is trying to me the same... and none of the senators and reps will use the government system unless we force them... but even then they will cut to the head of the line just like in Canada and England. I just hope that this will be resolved without using any fast cash loans.

Dude's a spammer (4.00 / 1)
another pay day loan spammer

Actually, JC (0.00 / 0)
I don't think it's a payday spammer.  I think it's someone who just trying to get the exact reaction you gave.  Yes, that makes them a troll, but ...

I will not rate their comment as such because troll rating it out would delete the better comments that have come afterward.

There's your delusion again, Mark (0.00 / 0)
You still believe that you think and speak for everyone.  Here's a clue, kitten.  You don't.

That sort of changes everything ...
Not such a good post after all.

Merk T:

Yes, I'm all in favor of them. Please have one sometime.

Mark T:

You are in denial. More so than most Democrats, you are yearning to believe that something of value has been achieved.

That's a facet of your personality, I suppose. I can't figure it elsewise. You're blind to the influences that have guided this process, start to finish.

Yep, arrogant and annoying alright.  Of course, myself and others have been trying to get your own foibles across to you for going on a year now.  But as I've pointed out many a time, the delusion is strong with you.

From what I've seen you appear to be a huge fan of labeling.

Quick question, smart guy (0.00 / 0)
If I'm 'sneaking around' troll rating people, then how do you know it's me?  Could it be that, just like you, I sign my name to my rating?  Why yes, yes it could.  So much for calling other people ... what was that term you used ... mushheads?

I only troll rate what is worthy of troll rating, Mark.  If that sometimes includes you, too bad.  And, may I point out once again how delusional it is to accuse someone of sneaking and cowardly behavior in the same breath you accuse them of openly attacking (insulting) people.  You're the one who's personalized this website, Mark, not me.  Seek help.

You lie, you have no friends at all, let alone friends in Canada. (0.00 / 0)
Yes this snark.

You believe this? (0.00 / 0)
Senator Baucus (who has tirelessly worked on this issue and should be commended for his efforts)

Who are you?

No one can say he hasn't worked hard and few people know more about this issue than Senator Max Baucus. (0.00 / 0)
The man is no idiot.

[ Parent ]
He's worked very hard. And he was paid millions by the health care industrial complex (0.00 / 0)
to bring home the bacon.

He also worked hard on the industry written bush backed medicare part D. He was one of just a few Dems to cross the aisle and outlaw importing cheaper drugs from Mexico and Canada, and to prohibit Medicare from negotiating drug prices.

Baucus is probably the best friend the health care industrial complex has in the whole congress.

Baucus isn't my friend though. In fact I pledged to never again vote for him after he voted with the Repos on Medicare Part D. I've since updated that pledge to vote against him always, even if it means voting for the Repo scumbag.

I will stick to my pledge. No more votes for the insurance company whore! I'll only vote against him.

By the way, If Baucus is so smart, how come he didn't know that Americans want single payer? He found out, but he could care less what Americans want. It's all what the money boys want, with Baucus.
