Postcards from Bizarro World

Man, I had no idea how much Hoffman's ACORN conspiracy tapped into conservative illogic. Check this out, from Public Policy Polling:

PPP's newest national survey finds that a 52% majority of GOP voters nationally think that ACORN stole the Presidential election for Barack Obama last year, with only 27% granting that he won it legitimately....

Belief in the ACORN conspiracy theory is even higher among GOP partisans than the birther one, which only 42% of Republicans expressed agreement with on our national survey in September.

Un-freaking-believable. Only twenty-seven percent of Republican voters thinks ACORN didn't steal the presidential election for Obama? Seriously?

Man...I don't know what to say. It's one of those polls that really challenges your faith in the human race. What's going on over there on the right? I mean...it's like an alternate universe over there, a place hardly impacted by reality.

ACORN & the FAUX News "Opinionators Extraordinnaire" (0.00 / 0)
This whole ACORN fiasco has been blown way out of proportion by operatives and opinionators on staff at FAUX News Corp.  As long as these t.v. opinionators are allowed to rabble rouse and attract the lunatic fringe as their core supporters, then ACORN-type scandals will stay on the front page and in the frontal lobes of right-wing conservatives.

The Glenn Beck's of this world effectively shout, "FIRE" in crowded theaters, and all this hateful rhetoric is aimed, I firmly believe, at instigating an assassination attack against President Obama.

Rush Limbaugh reigns in talk radio by his hateful fearmongering tirades against all Democrats, but President Obama in particular.

I don't know how our country came to this sad state of affairs.  There are no decent politics with decent and honest difference of opinion--there are just lies and hateful rhetoric.

What a scary reminder of the world we live in! (0.00 / 0)
No wonder this fight is so hard. Keep up the good work people - this is what you are up against.

That's About Where I'm At... (0.00 / 0)
I guess I wasn't politically cognizant enough during the Clinton years (being 9 when he was elected has something to do with that) - so I didn't quite have a concept for the kind of alternate reality that much of this country lives in.

Right wing radio is really the only wavelength that these people live on.  It creates fake crises and makes fake bad guys; which in turn manufactures anger that is very, very real. It's disheartening to say the least.
