Rehberg Gets Schooled by Tyler Gernant

by: Matt Singer

Thu Feb 04, 2010 at 13:52:36 PM MST

Hot damn. I missed Tyler Gernant's announcement because I was traveling but just picked up the coverage from yesterday's papers. The contender is swinging and he lands a few punches:
Gernant said he wouldn't be running if the country was in the same shape it was in 2000, with a $200 billion budget surplus and a booming economy with increasing numbers of jobs.

[...]

While Rehberg claims that fiscal responsibility is at the core of his being, Gernant said he voted for "a massive tax cut for the wealthy that completely eliminates our budget surplus and returns us to deficits." Gernant said Rehberg voted to put two wars on the country's credit cards and voted for a pharmaceutical drug plan that lets the big pharmaceutical drug companies charge the U.S. government whatever they want.

Good for Tyler -- on point, honest, and educational about just what policies our Congressman pursues.

Reward good behavior -- donate today.

Well, to be fair, Dennis McDonald has been making similar charges against Rehberg for some time.  He's also looking for donations.  By the way, I wonder whatever became of Melinda Gopher.  Is she still running?

Give the kid a chance. (0.00 / 0)
If he's got the narlies, he'll do well.  Look, Dopey Rheburp's an idiot.  If he really DOES debate Gernant, Gernant needs throw caution to the wind and come out swinging.  He has nothing to lose.  I dunno if he's tough  or not, but he's got to prove that he is.  Dopey's one big talking point.  A good puncher can punch right through that crap.  Gernant needs to stay on Dopey with body punches and not allow him to breathe.  In other words, put Dopey on the defensive from the gitgo.  And maybe he'll have a chance.

What has he got to offer, doglap? (0.00 / 0)
Its really not enough to be just another anti-Rehburg.  If that were enough you could run.

Just another 'Me Too' Centrist (0.00 / 0)

I spoke with Tyler's ppl, and another member from our 4th of July Parade entry in the Butte extravaganza, MT's for Single Payer spoke with Tyler...Conclusion: 1. he was one of those Gag Me PO puppies. 2. his platform is Gag me Centrism, which is just another form of being a REPUG; just like the DimWit Rehberg (he's not bright enuff to be a Fascist like other Repugs). Why would i want more of the same?
Who cares about Gernant his message is Centrist drivel. And add McDonald i do not believe either will be any different than Baucus's Sidekick, Jon-boy one term Tester = neither will be able to say NO to War Funding or Banking industry. Or even stand up to amend the Constitution to override the recent New LAW by the Gang of 5/SCOTUS.  (Although i'd say it was very lop sided for Corporations any how)(considering the likes of Baucus's shameless sock-puppet of the Predatory Capitlaists).
Don't expect my support if you have Zero Principles or Backbone.
