Really?! Rehberg Campaign Email Extolls Montanans on 'Virtue'

by: Montana Cowgirl

Thu Mar 25, 2010 at 20:24:25 PM MST

A friend just forwarded me the latest Dennis Rehberg campaign email, sent out this morning, March 25, 2010, extolling Montanans on the need to practice 'virtues' such as, get this:

"Being a responsible citizen" and "caring for your family."

Dennis Rehberg talking about 'virtue' is like Tiger Woods talking about fidelity.

Excuse us if we have some trouble taking Rehberg's new-found focus on 'virtue' seriously in light of his long record of sucking cash from disgraced and convicted con men like Abramoff and Davison and VECO execs, using his influence to slip unjustified contracts to members of team Abramoff, and packing his staff with low-lifes.

Rehberg has also been spotted at Bobcat games with the man at the center of the Bozeman prostitution scandal that the national news program Nightline said had political links. (Rehberg donor Bill Martel.) It is unknown on what other outings Rehberg has accompanied Martel.

For these reasons, and so many others, it's unlikely that anyone's going to be asking Dennis Rehberg for a lesson on "virtue."

Hey, at LEAST he ain't been caught porkin' a mule yet! (0.00 / 0)
and in the Pubbie Party, that makes one a paragon of virture!  Look for his book soon, the Book of Virtues by St. Dopey Rehburp.  He canonized himself after his brush with drunken death.  He's finally realized his true purpose in life, to lecture folks about virtue!  Good luck with that!

So goes the reasoning (0.00 / 0)
of a truculent teenager.  Usually the argument is, "Don't tell me... if you have never gone through it."  Or, "Don't tell me... you have done it too."

This type of argument is usually about drug use.

"Being a responsible citizen."  What part of that is objectionable or debatable?

"Caring for your family."  What part of that is objectionable or debatable?

Sinners and saints alike should not shy away from shouting messages that point the path we all should walk.

We're not teenagers, and Rehberg isn't our parent. (0.00 / 0)
So, your argument doesn't work.

You ARE teenagers... (0.00 / 0)
Obama's your parent.

Yes but, Crusty, what gives? (0.00 / 0)
Crusty, what gives Dopey the moral authority to lecture ANYone on ANYthing regarding virture?  You see, I just don't see it.  All Dopey is doing is pandering to the christofundiwackmentalists.  Dopey wants people to "be responsible citizens".  Responsible for what?? Their own health care maybe?  Why SURE that's what it means.  It's Dopey code for health care.  You don't NEED no gubmint run health care 'cause you's a "responsible citizen"!  Yikes!  Guess that all the folks that went bankrupt because of medical problems didn't read Dopey's memo!

And really, "take care of your family"????  Dopey's throwin' another christo bone to the American Family Values channel listeners.  I mean, are Pubbies SO DAMN STUPID that they REALLY need to be reminded to "take care of the families" by the drunken sailor???  Wow!  Just  wow!

I find Dopey's memo to be terribly arrogant, self-serving, and patronizing.  I mean, did we elect Dopey to be congressman or pope?  Dopey the Popey!  The master of debauchery!

You see, Crusty, I speak Dopey.  He doesn't fool me, only folks like you!

It's gonna be a loooooooong campaign season (0.00 / 0)
If you kids keep it up with these "OMG DENNY'S A BAD GUY-non-stories".

Do you think you could be anymore transparent.

Exit Question:  What are the chances of Rehberg being unseated come November?  I give him a 5% chance of losing.

Keep up the good work, your honesty entertains me.

5% (0.00 / 0)
Therein lies Rehberg's soft underbelly. Glad you acknowledge that, Rusty. That and the aura of invincibility that he and his supporters like iron oxide here exude. Remember, rust never sleeps... it keeps working at its substrate until it dissolves it into a pile of nothingness that then blows away in the wind...

If a politician had enough guts and courage to expose him, he'd lose. If one of the 3 or 4 dems that are running in the primary started running against Denny like he/she wanted to beat him, dems and many indies would rally behind that person in a heartbeat.

Now Baucus' last election was a 100% shoe-in. But in the next, not so much.

Answer me this question Rusty: how much of an impact on Rehberg's numbers would there be if he got called to testify in the Barkus trial shortly before the election? You may want to up your 5% number accordingly.
