Big (Bad) News for John McCain

by: Matt Singer

Tue Apr 03, 2007 at 10:43:50 AM MST

John McCain can't catch a break. Following news of atrocious fundraising numbers, there's more bad news for the man seeking the GOP nomination.

Im glad that what amounts to heresay and conjecture amounts to something post worthy on here.  Is it because you have just run out of socialist propaganda, or are you just really out of other peoples ideas?

At least the GOP candidates are not out attacking each other just yet.

I would think, or hope that the left would want to welcome a candidate like McCain, as he is far more centrist than some (or what we currently have).

Either way, please come up with more than a rumor from MyDD for a worthy post.

Are you stupid or lying, Jake? (0.00 / 0)
John Kerry says firsthand that John Weaver approached him regarding a bipartisan ticket. That's not hearsay. It's an eyewitness account. I can't even begin to guess how you think it's conjecture or rumor.

As for McCain, I'm not a big fan of anyone whose policy is "keep lying so people can keep dying."

So (0.00 / 0)
So, Mr. Genius, can anyone question factually an oral account of Kerry.  We can ask Weaver, who is in the best position to make such an account, but any "he said" information from Kerry, is just that "he said."

Sorry to quibble with your paramount wit.

There are people who say "firsthand" that they saw UFOs, and were approached by said UFOs regarding anything, probably including a bipartisan ticket.  What does that mean?

Let's see if I got this right. (0.00 / 0)
So, Kerry says X and that is suspect
"hearsay".  And if Weaver says Y, then that is, according to you, supposed to be the truth.  Are you seeing a problem with that ...Mr. Genius? 'Cause I sure am.

You're apparently doing well in your lawyer training, Jake.  You've figured out that questioning the opposition about the lack of counter-point affords you the opportunity to allude to a lie ... without counter-point.  So do tell, Mr. Genius, what does Weaver say?  Anything?  Nothing?  Then why should we distrust the word of a lawyer and a US Senator?  We shouldn't.

Keep studying, Jake.  You'll make yourself an ambulance chaser someday, I'm certain.

Weaver is in the best position? (0.00 / 0)
Look, if the subject matter is a conversation between Kerry and Weaver, they are in equally strong positions. You can accuse John Kerry of being a liar, but not of engaging in hearsay, conjecture, or rumor.

Similarly, if I was asked for my take on this exchange with you, my take on it may end up being dishonest, but it can't be hearsay or rumor. I've taken part in it.

As for people who say they've seen UFOs, there are three possibilities:

  1. They've actually seen UFOs (not necessarily alien spacecraft, just an unexplained object).

  2. They are lying.

  3. They are confused.
What isn't possible in such a case is hearsay. The only way it could be hearsay is if someone claimed to have seen a UFO while drunk, forgot about it, was told about it, and later said "I saw a UFO when I was blackout drunk." That would be hearsay.

So unless you're accusing John Kerry of being a drunk or an amnesiac your original point is still wrong.

Thanks for playing.
