Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine

So, what's with the Linda McCulloch Show?

She, like the Governor, now travels with an entourage.

Why just the other night at the Truman Dinner in Billings, she showed up with three staffers: State Rep. Galen Hollenbaugh (her deputy chief of staff), her chief of staff and her chief legal counsel. (kind of have to wonder who was running the real show in Helena that day.)

Lately, the Governor's daily schedule has been littered with references to the Secretary of State accompanying him around the state. On Wednesday, it's off to Lewistown.

Might it be that Joe Lamson and others have sprinkled the holy water and convinced Linda to abandon one corner office in the Capitol Building for another in 2012?

This could just be a reward for Linda's outspoken support and vote for the Otter Creek coal lease. It may also be a payback for Attorney General Steve Bullock (who is rumored to be systematically building momentum for a gubernatorial campaign) daring to part ranks with the Governor on the coal leases? This sort of in-your-face is so Schweitzer-like regardless of Linda's real intentions in 2012.

i don't know why she would be travelling with the gov (0.00 / 0)
but it seems like probably she doesn't have enough to do.  she would make a terrible governor that's for sure.

Signs of Juneau (0.00 / 0)
Reports from Truman Dinner 2010: Denise Juneau signs dotted throughout the crowd distributed by her staff. Does this mean Denise is running for Governor? Yet YK said nothing about this show of campaign organization. YK -- have you and/or your organization made a pick -- and if so would it be Juneau or Bullock or Juneau/Bullock or Bullock/Juneau? Both Juneau and McCulloch are members of MEA-MFT; both have had MCV support. Bullock ran the minimum wage campaign funded by MEA-MFT and other unions. Such a dilemma -- unless of course you're totally opposed to resource development!

McCulloch won't be getting MCV support (0.00 / 0)
that's irreversible damage done.

Juneau has done far better as State Superintendent of Public Instruction, IMHO.  She's done a great job connecting with her constituency..and has made enormous effort to Montanans via the Office of Public Instruction's redesigned website, which is updated nearly daily.

She's no slacker.  I'd welcome her as Governor.  I'd work for her, and I'd donate money.

Plus Juneau's a much, much better campaigner. McCulloch could barely beat an incumbent whose platform seemed to consist of telling everyone how bad he was at his job and how we needed to rewrite our code to make it easier for him.

I have also heard (0.00 / 0)
that Sen. Dave Wanzenried (D-Missoula) may be running for Governor.  And that at the Truman Dinner John Morrison also made an appearance.

Gov sweepstakes - (0.00 / 0)

I still think Schweitzer will pick his own candidate to try to replace him. Lots of time left.

The smart move for the Dems would be for Bohlinger to resign, and Schweitzer to pick his candidate then, to be Lt. Governor - to give him whatever advantage he/she could get.

I thought it would be Steve Bullock, but he screwed up by supporting Obamacare, so I guess the field is wide open.
