From Montana Women Vote:
Please join Montana Women Vote for a discussion about "What's at Stake With the State Budget?" You probably already know that schools, health care, roads, and state parks are all funded by the state budget. What you might not know is Montana could face a gap in funding that is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The math is pretty simple – if we don't find new revenue, we could be in store for cuts to programs like Meals on Wheels, childcare assistance, cuts to state funding for family planning, and elimination of all-day kindergarten. Fortunately, we can respond by letting elected officials know how much we value services that make Montana a great place to live and work, but only we can tell our story about the need to keep funding for these vital public resources. The meeting will be an opportunity to learn about the budget, ask questions, and find out ways to use your voice to make a difference! A meeting to discuss our response to the state’s revenue crisis:
Wed. December 8th, 11:30-12:30pm, with an option to take action between 12:30-1pm Missoula Public Library, 310 E. Main St, Missoula This event is co-sponsored by: Montana Women Vote, the Montana Human Rights Network, and the Montana Organizing Project. Food will be provided and RSVPs are appreciated! To RSVP or for questions contact Olivia Riutta 543-3550 x 213. |
