Been wondering whether this would happen since Tester first got the seat. This'll be quite the race. And the House race now too! Denny's seat is Schweitzer's if he wants it, probably, but would he?
And the other problem for Dopey is that it'll be harder than hell to go negative on Jon. Hell, everybody LIKES him. He's a likeable guy. So, if Dopey goes negative, which we all know he will, it will backfire on him. Maybe Dopey's plannin' on sayin' that Jon wasn't BORN here! That might work. But I THINK that he's gonna try to paint him as Montana's Obama. In fact I KNOW that's what he's gonna do. But I seriously doubt that that tactic will get much purchase. Jon AIN'T black!
Nope, in the end, I think that Dopey Reeburp is SO dumb, that he actually thinks he can beat Tester solely with the backing of his inbred teaparty pals. Dopey's hitched his wagon to the loonies, and it may just come unhinged! All Tester has to do is keep hittin' Dopey over the head with the Pubbies attempts to do away with social security and it's game over for Blinky boy.
But in any event, I can't wait. THIS is gonna be a fun one! It's a microcosm of the country, the ultimate showdown between a tea drinkin' inbred corporate loony, and a rational, intelligent human being! My money's on Tester. And if we all work real hard and get behind Jon, we can FINALLY make an honest man outta Blinky. He'll finally have to get a real job for once in his life!
It surprises me that Denny is making the switch - I can only speculate as to his motives, but at least in the Senate you aren't running a perpetual campaign, as it's six years instead of two.
The GOP smells blood in the water with this race, as Senator Testers chances of beating Denny are quite poor.
With Testers strong ties to Obama/Reid/Pelosi, and his casting the deciding vote for Obamacare, which I expect the SCOTUS to dismiss during the campaign, I can't see how he'll improve on Dennis McDonalds numbers.
So who will the players be for our lone House seat in 2012?
Bottom line? It's a cheap seat!, relatively speaking.
