would I tell you at all how to blog.  This is just my opinion, but I think you should have left the other post up, with a update.  And at no point are you responsible for admitting your mistake.  You didn't make one.  Joseph Baken did.

His mistake did more damage than can be counted here.  Going into the future, any time Ellie Hill or other concerned politician calls for the very needed protection of GBLT people, they will be countered with the ridiculous fallacy of "Yeah, but, that one guy lied!"

The lesbian couple in Missoula whose home was burned down because they wanted the same health benefits afforded to any hetero couple didn't lie.  The dozens of people in Missoula and other Montana towns who are beaten or have their property destroyed by the ignorant are not lying. But I'll just bet that Dennis Rehburg will belly up to any bar in the state and feed the hate by telling jokes about how that one guy lied.

Although never proven, I'm 98% sure it was a lie.  Just as I knew Baken was lying.  I was attacked for saying so until the truth came out.

I am sure that some people do lie, and others make mistakes about all kinds of things, but I know that people are belittled, bullied and even beaten because who they are makes other people uncomfortable.  

It is simply not okay to belittle, bully or beat someone for any reason, even if they make us uncomfortable.  I said us because I am no angel myself, but one or two or a hundred liars would not change the fact that it is simply not acceptable behavior.  Period.
