| Unless something changes in HD 58, the Speaker the Dems choose next Monday will be Speaker for the session. I think the choice is likely to be Rep. John Parker of Great Falls (a few other folks had their names in the ring, but it looks like Parker consolidated support pretty quickly).
The more interesting races appear to be shaping up for other leadership positions, including floor leader, whip positions, and caucus chair. The article mentions Margie Campbell and Dave Gallik as two candidates for leadership. I think that Dave McAlpin, Dan Villa, Brady Wiseman, Bob Bergren, and Eve Franklin are also vying for positions. There are probably more than that. If you've got other names, pitch 'em in down below. |
