... if I were flying with lots of lawmakers from idaho, I'd be tempted to make a joke. I'd at least follow him into the bathroom "just to keep an eye on things".  It could definately be done in a way that would not be offensive to gay people (rather, to the much smaller minority of Idaho lawmakers).  

PS I'm assuming the sign language has to do with the foot-tapping incident.

My offense gene is dormant; can someone explain to me exactly how that slogan is offensive?

I don't see any normative judgment of being gay (it's gross, it's awesome, it's sinful, it's natural).  Just a declarative statement (is, is not).  Seems like the only way this statement would be offensive is if the audience's denotative meaning of the word were preexistingly homophobic.

This was a joke folks.  Lighten up.  I read much, much more offensive comments over at Kos when Craig was front-page news...

It's one thing to bash the hell out of a moralist hypocrite.  It's quite another to bash an entire group of people.

Besides, offense is in the eye of the beholder.  Are you certain that you didn't find the comments at the Orange Hell offensive precisely because they were posted at the dKos?  Your past behavior here strongly suggests it.
