Rehberg uses troops as a campaign tool

by: MTboots

Thu Dec 10, 2009 at 12:36:34 PM MST

(Remember: wasn't it Rehberg's campaign that lodged a complaint against a Democratic candidate for using a uniform on a campaign website...? - promoted by Jay Stevens)

Dennis Rehberg's new campaign website, dennyrehberg.com,  features a photo of him with a group of troops in uniform.

But this is against the military's rules regarding servicemembers and political campaigns.

A DOD directive on rules regarding servicemembers and political activities (http://www.military.com/military-report/rules-regarding-political-activities) reads:

"...members on active duty should not engage in partisan political activity" and "...members not on active duty should avoid inferences that their political activities imply or appear to imply official sponsorship, approval, or endorsement..."

Rehberg certainly doesn't seem to mind violating the military's rules or politicizing our troops.

President Obama Jokes to Troops at Osan Air Base... (0.00 / 0)
SEOUL, South Korea -- On his way back home, President Obama stopped at Osan Air Base in South Korea, greeting roughly 1,500 Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines, many in camouflage, in an airport hanger.

Before a crowd of troops holding cameras and cell phones, the president joked, "you guys make a pretty good photo op."

What's that?  Rehberg's photo was at his re-election campaign website?  And President Obama is running for what now?  Nothing you say?  Obama is what concerning the military?  Their highest commander you say?  Rehberg has what command over the military?  None?  Oh do tell ...

Damn, you're just a font of information, aren't you, Rusty?

and unlike (0.00 / 0)
our congressman, Obama is the commander in chief.

Personally, I'm happy somebody to see that somebody has found (0.00 / 0)
a use for our armed forces which does not involve thuggery, destruction, rapine, death, etc.
