| I believe that the opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference, so i find it rather disturbing to witness the ways our Congressman, Denny Rehberg, cares so little about the wellbeing of the human beings he shares a state with. Thirty Three votes to kill our healthcare law is anything but an anomoly, it is a deeply ingrained pattern. Thirty Three times he disavowed children's health insurance. Most of us are only a paycheck or two away from homelessness. Even if the Mercer family has great insurance they are still missing work, they have unplanned travel and lodging expenses, co pays, and long distance phone calls. Then there is the issue of meals for the parent(s) who are probably getting sick of eating cafeteria food because their own kitchen is so far away from their baby. I don't know these people or anything about their family's financial or insurance situation. What I do know is that two year old Georgia Mercer has big needs right now, it sounds like she has been in the Spokane Children's Hospital for a while now. Many families in similar situations crumble under the strain and their powerlessness to make it all better. I an glad that Mercers are incredibly fortunate to have good friends and family members who arranged a poker run, an auction, dinner and live music to raise money for treatment at the Rail Line Tavern in Marion last Saturday night. I hope they raised a ton of cash. It makes no sense to have pride about living in the richest country in the world if people, like the Mercers, who have important things to do need to even think about money. Baby Georgia Mercer and her family should not ever have to wory about being denied health insurance because she has a pre existing condition. Denny Rehberg does not agree. Our Congressman Denny Rehberg is proud of the thirty three times he voted to dismantle the law that would prevent people like Georgia Mercer being denied health insurance due to a pre existing condition.
